Comments and the guestbook

Posts in the comment section and the guestbook are published as this is the purpose of public comment sections and guestbooks. If you do not want to publish some data, do not enter this data there. By entering the data you consent to their publication in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. In accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR your IP-address and HTTP-headers (e.g.: browser, language und proxy data) are also stored, but not published, in order to fight spamming.

Server log files

For technical reasons the webserver stores meta data about the accessed webpages and about your internet browser. This data contains the time of the visit, HTTP method/version/status, amount of transmitted data, the referrer (the page that linked you to us), the (mostly anonymized) IP address and user agent (i.e. version of your browser and OS). It is stored in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, since the data is required to provide a working, stable and secure website. The data might also be used for statistical purposes or to improve the website.

Direct mail

All mails sent to me and sent by me are processed as part of my personal correspondence and stored. They might be stored in a mail program and/or on a mail server. In accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR sending a mail to me is freely given consent that I should process this mail. If you want to enter a contract, the mail is also processed in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Storing mails long-term is necessary in case you might send additional mails referring to older mails; as well as it is in my legitimate interest to know my personal contacts in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Sharing with 3rd parties

No data is shared with 3rd parties, unless this is necessary due to the following technical or legal reasons:

  • This webpage is hosted on a webserver and emails are stored on a mailserver. These servers are provided by an external service provider. All communications and emails are thus processed by this service provider.
  • Emails sent by me are sent to the email provider of the recipient.
  • Mails sent as physical letters carry the address of the recipient on the outside of the envelope.
  • Published comments are published and thus visible to anyone, even 3rd parties and 5th columns.
  • Legal compliance with governmental requests, court orders or similar authorities.

External links point to webpages not maintained by me. When you click on an external links you leave this webpage. Thereby I share no data with that external webpage, only your browser contacts it. Hence I am not responsible for those external webpages or their privacy policy.

Storage duration and deletion

All data might be stored indefinitely. As the primary purpose of my mail address is private correspondence, it is a legitimate assumption that a correspondence might need to be continued in future.
Server logs are frequently deleted or anonymized by the external provider responsible for maintaining the servers.

In accordance with Art. 15 GDPR and Art. 20 GDPR you can ask me about the purpose, collection and processing of your data; you have the right of rectification (e.g. Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (e.g. Art. 17 GDPR), restriction (e.g. Art. 18 GDPR), complaining to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), objection and to withdraw consent (e.g. Art. 7 Abs. 3 GDPR or Art. 21 GDPR).
